FAQs
Do you Lash extensions make your natural lashes fall out?
Lash extensions themselves don't make your natural lashes fall out. However, if they are not applied or maintained properly, they can cause damage to your natural lashes, leading to breakage or premature shedding. It's crucial to go to a reputable technician and follow proper aftercare instructions to minimize any potential damage.
Do you have to take breaks from lash extensions?
Lash breaks are not essential when lash extensions are applied correctly. Each extension is applied to one natural lash, and is either removed and reapplied as the lash grows, or sheds along with it.
As long as your lash technician isolates correctly and only applies an extension to a healthy natural lash you're free to have your lashes as long as you'd like!
What is the after care for lash extensions?
Avoid Water for the First 24 Hours
Avoid getting your lashes wet for the first day to allow the adhesive to fully cure.
Be Gentle
Avoid rubbing your eyes or pulling on your lashes. This can cause the extensions to fall out prematurely and damage your natural lashes.
Skip Oil-Based Products
Oil can break down the adhesive, so use oil-free makeup removers and cleansers around your eyes.
Avoid Heat and Steam
Try to avoid saunas, hot showers, and steam rooms as the heat can weaken the adhesive bond.
Brush Them Daily
Use a clean spoolie brush to gently comb through your lashes daily. This helps keep them separated and looking neat.
Be Careful with Makeup
Avoid mascara as it’s difficult to remove. Be careful with makeup near your lashes as it can cause buildup to the roots of the lashes if it’s not removed correctly.
Cleanse Your Lashes
Clean your lashes regularly with a gentle, lash extension-safe cleanser to remove dirt and oil buildup.
Regular Refills
To maintain the fullness and length of your extensions, schedule refills every 2-3 weeks.
By following these guidelines, you can help ensure that your lash extensions stay in great shape and last as long as possible.
